A Christmas Poem

Christmas is a time of joy,
For each and every girl and boy.
They dress the tree with lights and things,
Some bells and bows and angels that sing.
Some visit Santa and sit on his knee,
And say what they wish to be left by the tree.
They go to bed and pray for snow,
The snow has fallen, the children scream,
They are so excited they think its a dream.
They put on their rain boots, hats and coats too,
Outside they build snowmen and have lots to do.
Making footprints in blankets of snow,
Its very cold when the wind starts to blow.
Mummys in the kitchen making cherry pies,
Daddys outside getting snow in his eyes.
Theres lots of laughter as the children play,
And its getting closer to Christmas day.
The presents are wrapped; there are logs on the fire,
The childrens excitement gets higher and higher.
Its now Christmas Eve, the children asleep,
Everyones quiet, you don't hear a peep.
On Christmas day the children rise,
To see their faces in such surprise.
Santa has left them all they had wished for.
Presents and presents and presents galore!

With Love at Christmas

Did I thank you for the laughter
And the happy times we knew
And your patience as you listened
When I talked my problems through?
And I wonder, did you realize
What your friendship meant to me
Or how comforting your kindness
And encouragement could be?
For at Christmas time, as always
All my thoughts have turned to you
For to me, you were so special
And I only hope you know
You were such a joy to be with
Warm and loyal to the end
And I'm missing you this Christmas
And I always will, my dear Friend.
