Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with Thee;
blessed art Thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit
of Thy Womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Our Lady, Queen of the Angels, pray for us!

My Rosary Beads

A little pair of Rosary Beads,
As plain as plain can be,
But only God in Heaven knows
How dear they are to me.

I have them always with me
at every step I take,
At evening when I slumber
At morn when I awake.

In bright and cloudy weather,
In sunshine or in rain,
In happiness or sorrow,
In pleasure or in pain.

It helps me in my struggle,
It reproves me when in sin,
Its look of gentle patience
Rebukes the strife within.

In days of pain and anguish,
The greatest help I knew
Was to hold my Rosary Beads
Until I calmer grew.

So when the time approaches
When I will have to die,
I hope my little Rosary Beads
Will close beside me lie.

That the holy name of Jesus
May be the last I say,
And kissing my sweet Rosary Beads,
My soul may pass away.

Excerpts taken from:
"Preparation for Total Consecration according to
Saint Louis Marie de Montfort"

"Acts of love, pious affections for the Blessed Virgin,
imitation of her virtues, especially her profound humility,
her lively faith, her blind obedience, her continual mental
prayer, her mortification in all things, her patience,
her angelic sweetness and her divine wisdom" "these being,"
as St. Louis De Montfort says,
"the ten principal virtues of the Blessed Virgin."

St. Louis De Montfort's Prayer to Mary

Hail Mary, beloved Daughter of the Eternal Father.
Hail Mary, admirable Mother of the Son, Hail Mary,
faithful Spouse of the Holy Ghost. Hail Mary, my Mother,
my loving Mistress, powerful sovereign. Hail, my joy,
my glory, heart and my soul. Thou art all mine by mercy
and I am thine by justice. But I am not yet sufficiently thine.
I now give myself wholly to thee without keeping anything
back for myself or others. If thou seest anything in me
which does not belong to thee, I beseech thee to take it
and make thyself the absolute Mistress of all that is mine.

Destroy in me all that may displease God; root it up and
bring it to nought. Place and cultivate in me everything that
is pleasing to thee. May the light of thy faith dispel the
darkness of my mind. May thy profound humility take the place
of my pride; may thy sublime contemplation check the
distractions of my wandering imagination.
May the continuous sight of God fill my memory with
His presence; may the burning love of thy heart
inflame the lukewarmness of mine.
May thy virtues take the place of my sins;
may thy merits be my only adornment in the sight
of God and make up for all that is wanting in me.

Finally, dearly beloved Mother, grant if it be
possible, that I may have no other spirit but thine
to know Jesus, and His Divine Will; that I may have
no other soul but thine to praise and glorify God;
that I may have no other heart but thine to love
God with a love as pure and ardent as thine.

I do not ask thee for visions, revelations,
sensible devotions, or spiritual pleasure.
It is thy privilege to see God clearly,
it is thy privilege to triumph gloriously in
heaven at the right hand of thy Son and to hold
absolute sway over angels, men and demons.

It is thy privilege to dispose of all the gifts of God,
just as thou willest. Such is, 0 heavenly Mary,
'best part', which the Lord hast given thee,
and which shall never be taken away from thee---
and this thought fills my heart with joy.

As for my part here below,
I wish for no other than that which was thine,
to believe sincerely without spiritual
pleasures, to suffer joyfully without human
consolation, to die continually to myself without
respite, and to work zealously and unselfishly for
thee until death, as the humblest of thy servants.
The only grace I beg thee, for me, is that every moment
of the day, and every moment of my life,
I may say -"Amen, so be it,
to all that thou art doing in heaven.
Amen, so be it,
to all thou didst do while on earth.
Amen, so be it,
to all thou art doing in my soul,"
so that thou alone mayest fully glorify Jesus in me
for time and eternity. Amen.

God Clocked in Hours of Overtime Creating Moms:
by Erma Bombeck

When the Good Lord was creating Mothers,
He was into His sixth day of "overtime"
when an angel appeared and said,
"You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one."

And the Lord said, "Have you read the specs on this order?
She has to be completely washable, but not plastic.
Have 100 movable parts ... all replaceable.
Run on black coffee and leftovers.
Have a lap that disappears when she stands up.
A kiss, that can cure anything from a broken leg to
a disappointed love affair.

And six pairs of hands."

The angel shook her head slowly and said,
"Six pairs of hands....no way."

"It's not the hands that are causing me problems,"
said the Lord.
"It's the three pairs of eyes that Mothers have to have."

"That's on the standard model?" asked the angel.

The Lord nodded, "One pair that sees through closed doors
when she asks,'What are you kids doing in there?'
when she already knows. Another pair, here in the
back of her head that sees what she shouldn't,
but what she has to know, and of course,
the ones here in front.
So that she can look at a child when he goofs and say,
'I understand and I love you'
without so much as uttering a word."

"Lord," said the angel, touching His sleeve gently,
"Come to bed ... Tomorrow ... It's getting late."

"I can't," said the Lord.
"I'm so close to creating something so close to myself.
Already I have one who heals herself when she is sick ...
can feed a family of six on one pound of hamburger ...
and can get a 9-year-old child to stand under a shower."

The angel circled the model of a Mother very slowly,
"It's too soft," she sighed.

"But tough!" said the Lord,
"You cannot imagine what this Mother can do or endure."

"Can it think?" asked the angel.

"Not only think, but also it can reason and compromise."
said the Creator.

Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across
the Mother's cheek. "There's a leak." she pronounced.
"I told You, You were trying to put too much into this model."

"It's not a leak," said the Lord. "It's a tear."

"What's it for?" asked the angel.

The Lord replied, "It's for joy, sadness, disappointment,
pain, loneliness and pride."

"You are a genius!," said the angel.

The Lord looked somber and said; "I didn't put it there."
Prayer At Dawn

Sweet Virgin Mother,
incomprehensible Morning Star,
as the gray gauze of pre-dawn
is lifted,
send down upon me
sufficient graces
to live this day
in a manner
pleasing to God.

All that I have and am
and wish to be,
I offer to you.
Take it in your immaculate hands,
I entreat you, and
by the power invested in you,
transform my humble gift
into an offering
worthy of your Divine Son.

Dear Mary,
before this day is born,
instill within me
the courage to carry my cross
in a way that will merit
your smile of approval
when the day is ended.
Should protests arise,
quiet my lips with the sound
of your sweet name.

Should annoyances
or injustices tempt me
to give vent to my feelings,
place before me the vision
of Christ Crucified,
silently accepting
the cruel taunts
of the blood-thirsty mob.
And should the cold fingers
of loneliness and despair
clutch me,
flood my soul
with the reassuring warmth
of your love!

Before I close my eyes again
in rest,
let me thank you
for honoring me,
your unworthy slave,
with your presence
and benediction.
And now, adding my praises
to those of the angels,
I promise to pay you homage
forever and ever. Amen.

To Jesus Through Mary

Secret of Mary: Nos. 23-24

True Devotion to Our Blessed Lady

If we would go up to God, and be united with Him,
we must use the same means He used to come down to us
to be made Man and to impart His graces to us.

This means is a true devotion to our Blessed Lady.
There are several true devotions to our Lady:
here I do not speak of those which are false.
The first consists in fulfilling our Christian duties,
avoiding mortal sin, acting more out of love than with fear,
praying to our Lady now and then,
honoring her as the Mother of God,
yet without having any special devotion to her.

The second consists in entertaining for Lady more perfect
feelings of esteem and love, of confidence and veneration.
It leads us to join the Confraternities of the Holy Rosary and of
Scapular, to recite the five decades of the Holy Rosary

(the fifteen mysteries), to honor Mary's images and altars,
to publish her praises and to enroll ourselves into her sodalities.
This devotion is good, holy and praiseworthy if we keep ourselves
free from sin. But it is not so perfect as the next,
nor so efficient in severing our soul from creatures,
in detaching ourselves in order to be united with Jesus Christ.

The third devotion to our Lady, known and practiced by very few
persons, is this I am about disclose to you, predestinate soul.
It consists giving one's self entirely and as a slave to Mary,
and to Jesus through Mary, and after that, to do all that we do,
through Mary, with Mary, in Mary and for Mary.
We should choose a special feast-day on which we give,
consecrate and sacrifice to Mary, voluntarily, lovingly
and without constraint, entirely and without reserve:
our body and soul our exterior property, such as house,
family and income, and also our interior and spiritual possessions:
namely, our merits, graces, virtues, and satisfactions.

Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us!

Canticle of Mary: (Luke 1:46-35)

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord.
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
For he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is His Name.

He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.

He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.

He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.

He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.

He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children for ever.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and will be for ever. Amen.

AT THE FOOT OF THE CROSS
BY Dorothy H. Bizer

At the foot of the cross
Stood a motley crowd,
Boisterous and rough and loud.
The curious raised their eyes to see.
Mary's head was bowed.

From the foot of the cross
Came shouts and cries,
Mingled with taunting jeers.
Scorners laughed and soldiers smiled.
Mary's eyes held tears.

The man on the cross,
To some of the crowd,
Was a rebel, a foolish one.
A few, envisioned, saw a King.
Mary saw her Son.
A Prayer to Mary

Holy Mary, Mother of our God,
Bless me now and forever.
Your name is ever on my lips and in my heart,
In danger, anguish and doubt, I call on you.
Keep me from losing my way,
May you be always with me
To guide me constantly on the path of righteousness.

Blessed Mary, glorious in your holiness,
Protect me and those I love here on earth
And open the gates of Paradise to us
So we may join You at the side of God. Amen

"Reflections Of A Mother"

I gave you life,
but cannot live it for you.

I can give you directions,
but I cannot be there to lead you.

I can take you to church,
I can teach you right from wrong,
but I cannot always decide for you.

I can buy you beautiful clothes,
but I cannot make you beautiful inside.

I can offer you advice,
but I cannot accept it for you.

I can give you love,
but I cannot force it upon you.

I can teach you to share,
but I cannot make you unselfish.

I can teach you respect,
but I cannot force you to show honor.

I can advise you about friends,
but cannot choose them for you.

I can advise you about sex,
but I cannot keep you pure.

I can tell you about alcohol & drugs,
but I can't say "No" for you.

I can tell you about lofty goals,
but I can't achieve them for you.

I can teach you about kindness,
but I can't force you to be gracious

I can pray for you,
but I cannot make you walk with God.

I can tell you how to live,
but I cannot give you eternal life.

I can love you with unconditional love
all of my life... and I will.
