or all the times you've said 'Hello'
ang clear and loud I know
n times I thought rocks were below
scaping peril the ship did go
ear or far, in ventures bold
eep-rooted like an anchor's hold
hall all the world link strong and true
aving friends as sound as you
n good and bad times love won't fail
revailing storms, may friendships sail

Old friends are parts of what makes us who we are.
Chip them off, and we'll find ourselves, just falling apart!

YOU MY FRIEND

You don't always show it,
but I know that you care.

You My friend
If I'd ever need you,
I know you'd be there.

You I'm glad you're my friend.
Your smile makes me smile.
Your pain makes me hurt.

You My friend
I want you to know:
If you need me--I'm there.
make you happy,
make you laugh.

You My friend
Sometimes you make me mad,
but I can't stay mad.

You My friend
Sometimes I want to get away from you.
And sometimes there's nothing I want more than:
to talk to you,
to tell you about my day,
to hear about yours,
to laugh with you,
to tease you,
to share an inside joke,
that no one else would get,
to argue with you,
but know we're just kidding..

You My friend
Do you remember the time when...?
There are so many times.

You My friend
Don't ever lose the wonderful person you are.
Stay happy.
Stay healthy.
Stay you.

You My friend
I'll never stop being your friend.
Don't ever stop being mine.

You My friend
Just wanted to tell you:
I care.

FRIENDSHIP

There's a miracle of Friendship
that dwells within the heart,
And you don't know how it happens
or where it gets its start...
But the happiness it brings you
always gives a special lift,
And you realize that Friendship
Is God's most perfect gift.
~Author Unknown~

"... When you ask God for a gift,
Be thankful if he sends,
Not diamonds, pearls or riches,
but the love of real true friends."
~Helen Steiner Rice

It is by chance we met,
by choice we became friends...
Friendship is a strange thing....
we find ourselves telling each other the deepest
details of our lives...
things we don't even share
with our families who raised us...
But what is a friend? A confidant? A lover?
A fellow email junkie?
A shoulder to cry on? an ear to listen?
a heart to feel?...
A friend is all these things...and more.
No matter where we met, .... I call you friend.
A word so small...yet so large in feeling...
a word filled with emotion.

It is true great things come in small packages.
Once the package of friendship has been opened,
it can never be closed...
it is a constant book always written...
waiting to be read... and enjoyed.
We may have our disagreements...we may argue...
we may concern one another...
friendship is a unique bond that lasts through it all....

A part of me is put into my friends...
some it is my humor...
some it is my listening ear...
some it is real life experiences...
some it is my romanticism...
but with all, it is friendship.

Friendships forged are a construct stronger
than steel built as a foundation....
necessary for life...
and necessary for love.
Friends...you and me...
you brought another friend..
and then there were 3...
we started our group...
Our circle of friends...
and like that circle...
there is no beginning or end...

Someone Needs You

If you're feeling low and worthless,
There seems nothing you can do,
Just take courage and remember,
There is someone needing you.

You were created for a purpose,
For a part of'God's great plan;
Bear ye one another's--burdens,
So fulfill Christ's law to man

Are you Father, Son or Daughter?
You've a work none else can do..
Are you Husband, Wife or Mother?
There is someone needing you.

If perhaps in bed you're lying,
You can smile and press a hand
Of the one who tells his story,
He will know you understand.

There are many sad and lonely,
And discouraged, not a few,
Who a little cheer are needing,
And there's someone needing you.

Someone needs your faith and courage,
Someone-needs your love and prayers,
Someone needs your inspiration,
Thus to Help their cross to bear.

Do not think your work is ended,
There is much that you can do,
And as long as you're on earth,
There is someone needing you.

A Friend Like You
by Unknown

There's lots of things
With which I'm blessed,
My problems have been few,
But of all, this one's the best:
To have a friend like you.

In times of trouble
Friends will say,
"Just ask, I'll help you through it."
But you don't wait for me to ask,
You just get up and do it!

And I can think
of nothing more
That I could wisely do,
Than know a friend,
And be a friend,
And have a friend like you.

The 'Grades' of Friendship

In Kindergarten your idea of
A good friend was the person who
let you have the red crayon when all
That was left was the ugly brown one.

In 1st grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who went
To the bathroom with you and held
Your hand as you walked through the
Scary halls.

In 2nd grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Helped you to stand up to the class bully.

In 3rd grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Shared their lunch with you
When you forgot yours on the bus.

In 4th grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Was willing to switch square-dancing
Partners in gym so you wouldn't
Have to be stuck do-si-doing with
Nasty Nick or Smelly Samantha.

In 5th grade your idea of a friend
Was the person who saved a seat on
The back of the bus for you.

In 6th grade your idea of a
Friend was the person who went
Up to your new crush and asked them
To dance with you, so that if
They said no you wouldn't have to be
Embarrassed.

In 7th grade your idea of a
Friend was the person who let
You copy the social studies homework
From the night before that you had not done.

In 8th grade your idea of a
Friend was the person who helped
You pack up your stuffed animals and
Old soccer cards so that your
Room would be "high schooler" room,
But didn't laugh at you when you
Finished and broke into tears.

In 9th grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Went to that "cool party" thrown by a
Senior so that you would not be
The only freshman there.

In 10th grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Drove you to school before you could
Drive so you wouldn't have to
Ride the bus.

In 11th grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Convinced your parents that you
Shouldn't be grounded, consoled you
When you broke up with your sweetie,
Made time for you even when they
Had a sweetie.

In 12th grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Helped you pick out a college,
Assured you that you would get into
That college, helped you deal with your
Parents who were having a hard time
Adjusting to the idea of letting you go.

At graduation your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Was crying on the inside but managed
The biggest smile one could give
As they congratulated you.

The summer after 12th grade
Your idea of a good friend was
The person who helped you clean up the
(root beer) bottles from that party,
Helped you sneak out of the house
When you just couldn't deal with
Your parents, helped you pack for
College and just silently hugged you as
You looked through blurry eyes at
18 years of memories you were
Leaving behind.

Now, your idea of a good friend
Is still the person who gives you
The better of two choices,
Holds your hand when you're scared,
Helps you fight off those who try
To take advantage of you,
Thinks of you at times when you are not there,
Reminds you of what you have forgotten,
Helps you put the past behind you
But understands when you need to
Hold on to it a little longer,
Stays with you so that you have confidence,
Goes out of their way to make time for you,
Helps you clear up your mistakes,
Helps you deal with pressure from others,
Smiles for you when you are sad,
Helps you become a better person,
And most importantly loves you!

THANK YOU FOR BEING MY FRIEND.

One day, when I was a freshman in high school,
I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school.
His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying
all of his books. I thought to myself,
"Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday?
He must really be a nerd."

I had quite a weekend planned, parties and a football game
with my friends tomorrow afternoon,
so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.

As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him.
They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms
and tripping him so he landed in the dirt.
His glasses went flying, and I saw them land
in the grass about ten feet from him.

He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes.

My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him and
as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw
a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said,
"Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives."
He looked at me and said, "Hey thanks!"

There was a big smile on his face.
It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.

I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where
he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me,
so I asked him why I had never seen him before.
He said he had gone to private school before now.

I would have never hung out with a private school kid
before. We talked all the way home, and I carried some
of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid.
I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with
my friends. He said yes. We hung out all weekend and the
more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my
friends thought the same of him.

Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the
huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said,
"Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles
with this pile of books everyday!" He just laughed
and handed me half the books.

Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best
friends. When we were seniors, we began to think
about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown, and I
was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be
friends, that the miles would never be a problem.
He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for
business on a football scholarship.

Kyle was valedictorian of our class.
I teased him all the time about being a nerd.
He had to prepare a speech for graduation.

I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there
and speak. Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great.
He was one of those guys that really found himself during
high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses.
He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him.
Boy, sometimes I was jealous.

Today was one of those days. I could see that he was
nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back
and said, "Hey, big guy, you'll be great!" He looked at me
with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled.
"Thanks," he said.

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat,
and began. "Graduation is a time to thank those who
helped you make it through those tough years.
Your parents, your teachers, your siblings,
maybe a coach...but mostly your friends.
I am here to tell all of you that being a friend
to someone is the best gift you can give them.
I am going to tell you a story."

I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told
the story of the first day we met. He had planned to
kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had
cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do
it later and was carrying his stuff home.
He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile.

"Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from
doing the unspeakable."

I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome,
popular boy told us all about his weakest moment.
I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same
grateful smile.

Not until that moment did I realize it's depth.

Never underestimate the power of your actions.
With one small gesture you can change a person's life.
For better or for worse.

God puts us all in each other's lives to impact one
another in some way. Look for God in others.

"Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when
our wings have trouble remembering how to fly."

There is no beginning or end..
Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is mystery.
Today is a gift.

A Prayer for On-line Friends

Every single evening
As I'm lying here in bed
This tiny little prayer
Keeps running through my head.
God bless my mom and dad,
And other family.
Keep them warm and safe from harm
For they're so close to me.
And God, there is one more thing
I wish that you could do.
Hope you don't mind me asking,
Bless my computer too.
Now I know that it's not normal
To bless a mother board,
But listen just a second
While I explain to you 'My Lord'.
You see, that little metal box
Holds more than odds & ends
Inside those small compartments
Rest so many of my FRIENDS.
I know so much about them
By the kindness that they give
And this little scrap of metal
Takes me in to where they live.
By faith is how I know them
Much the same as you
We share in what life brings us
And from that our friendship grew.
Please, take an extra minute
From your duties up above
To bless those in my address book
That's filled with so much love!
Wherever else this prayer may reach
To each and every friend,
Bless each email inbox
And the person who hits send.
When you update your heavenly list
On your own CD-Rom
Remember each who've said this prayer
Sent up to God.com.
Amen.

Thank you for being a part of my life.
God Bless each of you and your families

Work like you don't need the money,
Love like you've never been hurt,
And dance like no one is watching
