Dragons

From deep in the Earth comes a distant roar
Fiery breath and a talon'ed claw
Laying on a bed of jewels and gold
And maybe of shield of knights of old.

That’s the legend of dragon lore
Eating maidens and killings by the score
A thing to be feared and turned away
Unless it's Pete's Dragon then it's time to play!

Fire dragons, full of passion and flame
Banishing negativity, doubt and blame
Air dragons to aid insight and intuition
Earth dragons to aid in any sacred mission.

Elemental being their energy is raw
But don't shut them out, open the door
Ask them to protect, aid and help you grow
Their magic can do more than we'll ever know

Scaly of skin and small of wing
Talons and fire tis a wonderous thing
When a Dragon stand next to you or me
Remember that balance is the vital key

Although the power to crash and burn
Is something that we all can learn<
Unless you fill the void within
We may invite a chaos Dragon in.

Dragon Tears

A river flowed from the top of the hill
Never happened before, so it gave me a chill
I mustered my courage and climbed to the top
What my eyes beheld gave me quite a shock

Never seen a dragon in all my years
Much less a creature crying dragon tears
Moved with compassion, I had to ask why
A mighty dragon would have to cry

Gesturing to a sign that said, 'Dragon Hall'
Said "it's been years since folks came to call."
I boldly asked, "So you need a friend?"
As his flow of tears was starting to end

I thought of this creature's spirit sagging
He had no friend, but I had no dragon
If you've never seen a dragon smile
It’s a sight to behold, well worth your while

A powerful alliance was formed that day
As he offered his wings and we flew away
Lesson learned about boldness in fear
Never hesitate to dry a dragon's tears.
